"Sky Dance I & II" Dyptich, each 40.5" x 14"
This pair is evocative of architectural structures, yet the textures are earthy and rich. Copper clad over one convex and one concave bentwood frames. Hammered with a Slag, Distressed Brass, Ball Ping Hammers and a hand Ax. “Tiles” are fold formed with heat and repeated folding and hammering. All surfaces are treated with chemicals to create color, some brushed on, others use a wrap method. Copper tack heads (used on Sky Dance II) are enameled with ground glass in a kiln.
